Creative Systems & Production Leadership

Michigan Tech: Scaling a Creative Operation

As Creative Director at Michigan Technological University, I led creative strategy and production across video, motion, digital, and print — while modernizing the systems behind how the work got done. I designed cloud-based production workflows and project management systems that brought clarity to scheduling, reviews, resourcing, and cross-team collaboration, turning complex, multi-stakeholder projects into reliable delivery pipelines. Alongside directing major video productions and managing internal teams and external vendors, I remained hands-on in key creative work. The result wasn’t just stronger output — it was a scalable, dependable creative operation that could support institutional storytelling at scale.

The College Board: Building an In-House Production System

At College Board, I'm helping build an in-house video and motion capability from the ground up — designing modern production workflows, scalable templates, and creative systems that support content across marketing, product, and communications. By blending creative direction, production leadership, and hands-on execution with cloud-based collaboration and AI-assisted video and motion workflows, I'm turning video into a reliable, high-output engine rather than a one-off effort. The focus isn’t just stronger creative — it's building a system that can scale.

ChaseDesign: Producing Inside Complex Agency Systems

Earlier in my career, I worked inside a fast-paced creative agency environment at ChaseDesign, delivering complex multimedia, motion, and interactive projects for major national brands including P&G, Target, Starbucks, and Energizer. While I contributed hands-on across design, animation, and video, I was also embedded in the production pipelines that made large-scale creative possible — collaborating across strategy, design, development, 3D, and account teams to move work from concept to launch under tight timelines and layered approvals. This experience gave me a deep understanding of how creative systems operate at scale, how small breakdowns ripple across teams, and how strong production structure enables ambitious work to actually ship.

Nicole Kelly Designs: Designing End-to-End Creative Systems

Earlier in my career, through my consultancy Nicole Kelly Designs, I led end-to-end creative systems for clients — building complete brand ecosystems that spanned messaging, visual identity, websites, motion graphics, and video. I wasn’t just creating individual assets; I designed the strategy, workflows, budgets, and production structures that guided complex projects from concept through delivery. I managed and directed multidisciplinary freelance teams, partnered closely with subject-matter experts to translate complex information into clear visual narratives, and delivered large-scale multimedia experiences across digital, event, and environmental platforms. From producing interactive tradeshow content for Sheraton and Hilton to leading multi-part educational video series built on scientific research, this work strengthened my ability to design creative systems that hold up across teams, timelines, and technical constraints.
